After cleaning out drawers at my mom's house, I found several jars and tubes of unopened Mary Kay products. I don't know when she purchased them and neither does she. Are they still good? What is the shelf life of unopened face creams?
Check for an expiration date!
Open it and test it on a small patch of your skin, if nothing happens then it's fine.
Most makeup porducts last 2-4 years. What is the shelf life of unopened face creams?
As a general rule of thumb, unopened makeup has a shelf life of about three years. Once opened, most liquid and cream beauty products last about one year. To determine whether or not the product is still good once it has been opened, look for changing signs, drying up, clumping and color changes, all of which can mean it is time to toss it and start fresh.
If you do end up needing a new product I would recommend you check out the Summer of Color feature on DailyMakeover.com - http://www.dailymakeover.com/blogs/summe… We’ve picked the products that will best help you pull off this summer’s hottest trends so you can find a fresh look that you know wont damage your skin.
Hope that helps!!

Dailymakeover1 gave you some good information but also MK has date codes on it as to when the products were made so look for 2 letters followed by 2 numbers we are currently on r so personally I would be hesitant to use anything prior to k maybe f but no further back then that.
Most facial creams have an expiration date, look for that. if not, test it on a small patch of skin that [to other people] is not visible.
I have been told by a makeup professional 1yr max.
